London!

August 8, 2012

A few months ago I had the privilege of going to London with my friend Carla for work. She was shooting for a corporate client and asked if I would come and assist her! I couldn’t pass up the opportunity! Along with us was our good friend DD Nickel with hair and makeup and Nikki our coordinator! I’m so glad that I went especially now that the Olympic Games are on. I’m enjoying all the great footage of London that I keep seeing on the Today Show every morning. Normally I don’t watch the news but I love when they cover the Olympics! In honor of the Olympic Games I thought I would blog some of my photos from London!

While we were there we didn’t get much time to for sight seeing since we were working all day, but we did manage to do one full day before we left. We started out at the Victoria and Albert Museum. We saw an exhibit of photographs of the Queen for her Diamond Jubilee that was happening this year.

I was so excited to see this Bernini sculpture in the entrance. I just love all his work, just wonderful to see in person.

Below on the left is a copy of the David statue. I saw the original when Jared and I went to Florence last spring. It was interesting to see it from this perspective rather than from the ground up.

After the Victoria and Albert Museum we headed out to the other side of the city but first made a stop for lunch at Borough Market. We grabbed some sandwiches at a little stand and were ready to go for some more sight seeing.

We had to get some ice cream. This was goats milk ice cream and it was so so good! DD is my hand model on the far right.

Then we came across this amazing contraption. We were all shock when we saw that this was a wheel of cheese that was melted and then the cheese was scrapped onto a baked potato. The line was super long but DD stuck it out in line so that we could all enjoy this cheesy goodness.

This is what the finished product looked like. And boy was it GOOD! I also enjoyed the pickles on the side.

After we filled ourselves at the market we got back on the Tube and headed to the Tower Museum to see the crown jewels! Then we took a boat ride with an amazing view of the Tower Bridge (below on the right).

What a great day it was in our whirlwind tour of London! Carla, DD and Nikki, what a great time it was touring London with you ladies!
