The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. – Helen Keller
Every time I photograph a family session I am reminded of what is really important. Love. I didn’t understand the scope of this until Jared and I had our son, Isaac almost a year and a half ago. I would do anything for my son. I get it now. I understand this sacrificial love that parents have for their kids and it’s amazing. I enjoy family sessions for this reason. It’s not easy to get everyone together but it’s so important to capture these moments and places that are so special to us.
A few weeks ago I photographed our dear friends Kevin, Whitney, and Charlie before they moved from Brooklyn to (as they affectionately called it) “up state.” Their session was at McGolrick Park in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Kevin and Whitney got married in this park and our kids played here often. It’s a sweet little park and it was perfect for their session. This session was one of my favorites. Enjoy!
